Leo Abshire is a self-taught master fiddle player and is also a master fiddle maker. He started playing fiddle when he was seven years old. Coming from a musically talented family that includes his late cousin, the famous accordion player Nathan Abshire, and accordion player Ray Abshire, Leo likes to play traditional Cajun French music.

His music is soft, sweet and mellow and he teaches his traditional fiddle style to adults and young students all over the world, as well as teaching the art of making fiddles.. He has traveled around the world twice, playing for the Queen of England, Princess Di, and President Clinton. He has played in Carnegie Hall and played the opening ceremony at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996.

Leo played 20 years with the late, and famous accordion player Joe Bonsall. He also travelled and played with the late Eddie Le Juene, the late Milton Adams, and many more.
